Creating Taxonomies/Categries
A guide to setting up and assigning taxonomies and categories to a repository and how to assign them to an asset
Initial Taxonomy/Category Set-up
Here you will find information on the initial setup of taxonomies and categories. These can be used to organized your assets.
Taxonomies
Step 1
Go to ‘Admin’ in the top menu bar. Then, select ‘Taxonomies’ from the left hand sidebar
Step 2
Click ‘Add Taxonomy’
Step 3
Enter in a display name and an optional description of the new taxonomy
Step 4
Click on ‘Edit Taxonomy’ for the new taxonomy
Step 5
Click ‘Add Category’ to add your first category to the selected taxonomy
Step 6
Enter a display name and optional description for the new category
Step 7
Using the ‘Add Category’ button and ‘Add Child Category’ buttons, add additional categories as needed. Note: Each category has a series of action buttons including ‘Add Child Category’, ‘Move Up’, ‘Move Down’, ‘Show Details’, and ‘Delete Category’ which can be used for further organization as necessary.
Step 8
Once you get the categories organized the way you want, there is one final step to add the taxonomy to the desired repo(s). Click on ‘Repositories’ on the left hand sidebar

Click ‘Edit Config’ to selected the repository you wish to add the desired taxonomy to.
Step 10
On the ‘Edit Config’ screen, click ‘Asset Taxonomies’ and select the desired taxonomies from the drop down menu.
Step 11
Once you have the desired taxonomy or taxononmies selected, click ‘Save Config’ to save the changes. You can then return to your repository using the Content link in the top menu bar.
